ARSC Member councils are councils whose training meet the standards set for certain non-site-specific courses, such as Basic Plus. These courses are transferable from one member council to another. Trainees do not have to retake a transferable course if he or she has passed the course within the year at an ARSC Member council. We require a state or government-issued picture ID, including a State Driver License, U.S. Territories Driver License, State or Federal Identification Card, State or Federal Inmate Card (includes County & Municipality), Military Identification, TWIC card, or a valid passport that contains a current photo.<\/p>\n

BSC registrations are active for three calendar days or until they are canceled by the registering company. Failure to attend training or cancel within the 3 days will result in the company being billed for a “no-show.”<\/p>\n

Per our owner facilities, we are obligated to test according to their requirements. Only plant representatives can make exceptions to these requirements. You must ask them to email info@bsctx.org permitting BSC to test “with assistance” before registering your personnel. The verbal assistance must be given by a company employee.<\/p>\n

All instructor led classes (except Basic Plus) must be cancelled at least 24 hours in advance in order to avoid being charged the full cost of the course.<\/p>\n

Cell phone use is not allowed in the lab. Cell phones must be turned off or on silent mode. Cell phone or smart watch use, for any purpose, will result in dismissal from the computer testing lab at all BSC locations for 24 hours.<\/p>\n

A social security number is required in order for a reciprocal Basic Orientation Plus or Basic Orientation Plus Refresher by the Association of Reciprocal Safety Councils (ARSC). This requirement is to ensure that the training history can be verified by other ARSC safety councils. Basic Plus can, however, can be delivered with a non-reciprocal course code to foreign nationals or anyone who does not want to provide their social security number. Some trainees prefer to provide their social security number to facilitate reciprocal training records and to have one consolidated identifier to be used for background checks, training, and drug and alcohol testing. Providing the social security number during the initial trainee setup ensures that all of these records can follow the trainee regardless of the service provider. There are site-specific courses that require a social security verification or background check that would require the trainee to provide their social security number. BSC issues a BSC ID number to every person trained at our facility. This BSC ID number appears in clear text on our badge and is encoded in the barcode which is located on the bottom and back of the badge. This barcode is used by Gatecheck software to validate training or can be used by our Link registration system. The social security number does not appear on our badge in any way.<\/p>\n

We require a state or government-issued picture ID. US driver\u2019s license or identification card, US military ID, Department of Corrections card, or international passport. You must present ID every time you are trained at BSC.<\/p>\n

These courses are transferable from one member council to another. Trainees do not have to retake a transferable course if he or she has passed the course within the year at an ARSC Member council.
